Of course, as much as I enjoy rhythm games, there are a few issues I had with the title.

I know that once I spend more time with the rhythm game, I do see myself playing Performer mode a bit more once I get an A+++ on the songs in Proud, but that will take some extra time. As IвЂ™m playing through the later Standard difficulty songs, I was prepared for the вЂњeasyвЂќ Proud songs. I found that the game slowly eases you into the harder difficulty. I personally enjoy going through World Tour and also playing through the songs on the tracklist. In Performer style, there will be additional buttons to press, but if you miss these prompts, your HP will not be reduced. The other style is called Performer, and this style is for players who have mastered the songs and are looking for an additional challenge.

Instead of pressing multiple buttons, you will now just need to press one button. If the Standard style is a bit too difficult, then this style may make the title a tad bit easier.

In addition to the modes, there are also two additional styles found in Track Selection (essentially Free Play mode) besides the Standard style. There is also Versus Mode which allows for online competitive play against other players.

Unfortunately, this mode is restricted to only local play and there are only 21 songs to play instead of the full 150. The other mode is Co-op where you can play along with your friends or siblings. The first mode is World Tour (the gameвЂ™s Story Mode) which lets you play through various worlds and summarizes the Dark Seeker Saga. There are a few different modes in Melody of Memory. In addition, youвЂ™ll be able to use potions to heal yourself, and there are additional buttons for Memory Dives. For this rhythm title, youвЂ™ll have buttons letting you attack the enemies, a button to jump, and a button to glide. Of course, there is a small Kingdom Hearts twist to this gameplay. Like other rhythm titles, players will have to press a button that is timed with the music for points. Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory deviates from the series' usual gameplay by being a rhythm title. However, as Tetsuya Nomura has stated that the game is canon to the overarching story, there are hints of whatвЂ™s to come in the story, and it sets the stage for future titles. If anything, the rhythm titleвЂ™s story is somewhat similar to Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded where the game essentially summarizes the story of the past nine non-mobile titles from KairiвЂ™s point of view. Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory is different from a majority of the other games in the series.

As there are multiple games to the longstanding series where some games are crucial to understanding the story, the question then becomes, should you play this game? Story The game is not a spinoff like Final Fantasy Theatrhythm so the events of the Melody of Memory are canon to the overarching story of the series. So, itвЂ™s no surprise that Square Enix announced the first-ever rhythm game for the series вЂ“ Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory. The music in the Kingdom Hearts series has always been superb.
